🔁 What’s changing with NCAA scholarships?

Beginning in the latest cycle, the NCAA has approved a new “roster limit model”:

  • D1/D2 golf programs may opt in to offer up to 9 full scholarships.
  • Schools that don’t opt in will remain under the 4.5-equivalency system.
  • The change is intended to give flexibility, not to guarantee full rides.

💡 Power 5 schools are expected to adopt this first, while smaller programs will likely keep the current model.

  • Before that date, you can email coaches, but they can’t reply directly (they can follow your progress).

  • Translate your transcripts and verify GPA
  • Include official tournament results (yardage, course rating)
  • Add a short English intro video to your highlight film
  • Use WhatsApp in your contact info — most U.S. coaches prefer it

🌍 International players often receive strong offers due to academic + athletic strength.

🧠 What do coaches look for beyond scores?

  1. Mental toughness — bounce back after bad holes
  2. Composure — steady body language under pressure
  3. Academic reliability — strong GPA = more aid flexibility
  4. Coachability — polite, proactive communication
  5. Leadership — ability to fit within a team dynamic
