My name is Elena Sefusatti and I am from Trieste, Italy. I was born in Chicago and hold a US citizenship in addition to the Italian one. I began my education at an English-speaking elementary school before transitioning to an Italian school system. Currently, I attend a scientific high school. I am an A-level student planning to pursue studies in the STEM field.
I started playing volleyball in the last year of elementary school and became passionate right away. I primarily play as a middle blocker, though I’ve also taken on the role of outside hitter for my high school team in intrastate tournaments.
I’m a starting player for both my U18 youth league team and my ‘Serie C’ club team, which competes in the third-highest league in Italy. This summer, I’ve been invited to try out for a ‘Serie B’ team—one level up—for the upcoming season.
I’ve twice represented my Region (equivalent to a U.S. State) in Nationwide U15 youth competitions. Over four years competing in the U‑16 and U‑18 divisions with my current club, we secured the Territorial championship and finished as Regional runners‑up. In 2024, I was named MVP of the U18 Territorial Championship.
Most recently, my team won first place at the Cornacchia World Cup 2025 in the U17 category, where I was chosen as the MVP of this international tournament.
I have a highly motivated, driven and adaptable personality. Over the past few summers, I’ve volunteered, participated in mountaineering camps, and worked in a mountain hut in the Alps. My coach underlines that I am I coachable and reliable player, ready to grow further. I am ready for new adventures and hope to find a college where I can become part of a great team and also develop academically.
