My name is Bianka Gajewska. I’m 16, and as of right now, I attend the American School of Warsaw in Poland. My history with volleyball goes back to 6th grade (2019), when I joined my school team. Over the years, I started to develop a passion for the sport, and by the time I was in 9th grade, I was a starter on varsity at my school, Canadian Academy in Kobe, Japan. That’s when I started playing in my first club in Ashiya, Japan. During my sophomore year, I played in the Western Japan Athletics Association and the Asia Pacific Athletics Conference as a starter outside hitter, where we won both tournaments. During that time, I also participated in mixed-gender volleyball sessions with retired D3 male volleyball players.
As of this moment, I am a junior in high school and played in the Polish club called MOS Wola (1st league) but transferred to Orlęta Raszyn (1st in 2nd league) and play as an outside hitter. I also play for my school team during the season and have recently won the SCIS (Sports Council for International Schools) tournament in Bucharest, Romania.

Something I’d like to share is that I’m a well-rounded athlete and played soccer and basketball for 5 years. During the year, I engage in these sports to help me with cardio, agility, vertical jumps, and my mentality, which transfers to the volleyball court. My routine throughout the week consists of 3-4 club volleyball trainings, typically 2 to 3 hours long, as well as 2 school volleyball/basketball (depending on the season) trainings. This adds up to 6 practices a week, not including the gym which is how I stay physically active. In terms of my mindset, I am willing to be pushed beyond my limits to achieve my goal of being a college volleyball athlete and have a strong dedication toward volleyball and sports in general.
