I’m a 17-year-old setter from Belarus, playing for Borisov BGUFC for the 26/27 season in the Belarusian 1 League, one of the top divisions in the country. As a setter, I focus on decision making, accuracy in my sets, physical pressure at the net, and contributing to the team in every way I can.
Competing at the senior level this young has forced me to grow up fast as an athlete. I’ve had to go against more experienced players, learn to handle pressure, and stay disciplined both in training and in matches. I’d describe myself as the hardest worker on the court, coachable, and someone who’s always chasing improvement, even in small increments.
Off the court, I take academics just as seriously. I’m currently a student at one of the top universities in Belarus, and this year I’ll be studying volleyball coaching at the National University of Physical Education. But my real interest lies in sports psychology. I read a lot on the subject and have spent time with authors like Timothy Gallwey, Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, and Sian Beilock.
That reading has shaped how I think about the game. It’s sharpened my mindset, pushed me to grow as a leader, and taught me what matters most for a setter: making the players around you better and helping them play at their best.
Looking ahead, I want to keep building both academically and athletically in the United States. I’m looking for a college program where I can earn real playing time, develop within a strong volleyball system, and represent the school with the same discipline and respect I bring to the game now.
