About me

Hello coaches,

My name is Ana Vakanjac and I’m a 21-year-old girl from Belgrade, Serbia. I’m a 6’3” Center who can also play as a Power Forward. As a passionate collegiate student-athlete, I’m driven to excel both on the basketball court and in the classroom. Therefore, I want to introduce myself and give you some information about my athletic and academic background.

I have finished my sophomore year at Northwest College, from where I’m looking to transfer to a school that is the right fit for me and vice versa. I love school as I am like a sponge, I will always soak up knowledge about different topics. I study hard and maintain a high GPA, for which I received the honours of being on Dean’s List and Vice President’s Honor Roll. I’m majoring in Computer Information Systems. Along with my academics comes my real passion, basketball.

I love the game of basketball; I’ve played it for about 11 years now. I would describe my playing style as versatile. In offense, I can finish strong in the paint, and I can shoot the ball really well inside and outside of the arc. I’m a tough defender being able to defend both in the full and half court, always ready to block a shot and collect a rebound. I’m a very competitive, team-oriented player with a high basketball IQ, always bringing positive energy and encouraging everyone to play their best. I am very coachable and strive to be one of the hardest working players and one of the hardest working recruits you will find.
I put a lot of effort into basketball, training rigorously to continue to improve my game and to continue to develop my skills to become the best player I can possibly be.

Even when I have some time off, I like to keep myself busy. For example, in the summer of 2019 I volunteered at Women’s EuroBasket championship in Belgrade. I got a chance to watch a lot of different styles of play and to learn moves from the best European players in person. That was one of the best experiences of my life!
Thank you for checking and reading my profile. I hope you can consider me as a potential athlete for your team.
